The BACHELOR: Jake Pavelka
Jake Pavelka is out to prove on the next season of “The Bachelor” that nice guys don’t always finish last in love. The handsome commercial pilot from Dallas -- and America’s most hopeful romantic -- will star in his own bid for true love, choosing from among 25 bachelorettes, when “The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love” premieres on ABC in January 2010. This will be the 14th edition of ABC’s hit romance reality series. The identity of the new Bachelor as Jake Pavelka was recently confirmed on the, “Dancing with the Stars the Results Show.”
Ever since Jake, 31, shared a magical one-on-one date with Bachelorette Jillian Harris to see Martina McBride, millions of women have had their “Top Gun” fantasies about him. A fan favorite for his reputation as an honest guy with an open heart – not to mention his good looks -- viewers were stunned when Jillian rejected Jake right before the hometown dates on last season’s “The Bachelorette.” But women were drawn to him even more when Jake returned of his own accord in the next episode to protect Jillian from men who were not there for the right reasons. Jake – who already knew Jillian would not take him back -- freely shared and showed his emotions, and that’s when the requests for Jake to be the next Bachelor started to pour in.
Last Season we were the first to start an online petition and we recieved an overwhelming amount of votes for Jake! A google search for Jake Pavelka images returns our petition photo on the front page of the search results.
Jake’s fairytale-like experience falling for Jillian made him confident that he can find the love of his life on “The Bachelor.” Now, it’s his time. Jake knows himself well enough to know that he’s not made to live alone. He just needs to find the right woman -- his best friend and soul mate – and that’s whom he’ll marry. “I’ve dated some really amazing girls, but I’ve never been successful at finding that one girl,” Jake says, “and I saw how the whole thing comes together, the process with Jillian. I saw how the process works and I believe in it. That’s a unique way to meet somebody. I have a really good life now, but I would love to share it with someone.”
Jake’s parents reveal he likes adventurous women. “He likes a girl that is spontaneous,” mom Sallie says. “The way he put it to me, he would like a girl that can work in the yard and then put on a pretty dress and go out to dinner.”
But what Jake really wants is an energetic fun girl that can keep up with him. Jake said, “I fly on the weekends, play golf, go to a movie, but I’m not a couch potato. That’s the one thing I have to make these girls understand — I have a lot of energy.
I love salsa dancing. Country dancing on a Thursday night in Dallas is really fun, too. I enjoy working with my hands, creating or building something, landscaping and doing garden work. Even if [a woman] didn’t enjoy doing the things that I do, I would want her to be a part of them because I love them so much.”
Jillian Harris, who is happily engaged to her final guy Ed Swiderski said, “Jake has a huge heart and he’s very sensitive. He isn’t afraid to show his emotions. The world will see how far he is willing to go to find the right person.”
Fortunate to discover his passion at a young age, Jake started taking flying lessons at age 12. An accomplished pilot, he became an airline captain flight instructor at 23. On his days off, he has fun flying acrobatic planes, taking dance lessons and woodworking at the home he owns near Dallas.

His parents have had a long and happy marriage, and it seems to run in the family, as Jake also has two happily married brothers – older brother Jason and younger brother Matt – and two nieces.
Jake grew up in Denton, Texas and attended University of North Texas and Embry Engineering University for Aerospace Science.

How Jake came to be on the show last season
Pavelka was originally offered up to ABC to be The Bachelor, by members of his church who hoped to promote a moral bachelor for the show. Jason Mesnick was chosen instead, but ABC contacted Pavelka later to see if he would be willing to be on The Bachelorette instead.
In September 2009, Pavelka was named the upcoming bachelor on the reality television series, The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love. The series is set to air in January 2010.
Early Years
Growing up in Denton, Texas, Pavelka pursued a love of flying by earning his own money doing odds and ends, to pay for lessons at the young age of 12. A quick learner, he began flying solo at the age of 16. Pavelka admits to growing up, one of three boys, in a close family, and considers himself to have been a geeky nerd. His mother, Sallie Pavelka, is a nurse and raised Pavelka and his brothers Jason and Matthew to have a sensitive side.
Professional Years
Not long after Pavelka completed his studies at the University of North Texas and Embry Engineering University for Aerospace Science, he became an airline captain. He began flying for Atlantic Southeast Airlines in 2000.
Pavelka played the role of the young Chuck Norris on the series Walker, Texas Ranger, under the stage name of Jake Landrum. He also acted in local commercials.
Pavelka currently owns a limousine company.

Personal Life
Pavelka admits that his love life has not been a success, and a five year involvement ended in 2007. He also purchased a home, while involved in a two-year relationship with Christina Haney. The relationship ended, but they remain friends. 10/28/09 - Recently Jake Pavelka was spotted with filming crew at the Ottimista Enoteca-Café in San Francisco’s Cow Hollow neighborhood.

See above. Was Mrs. Gammell cast as a planned leak to drum up news or was she dissatisfied with who was chosen and broke the news to get out of the show?

Nolan is a divorcee with a son (according to my source, she's the show's token "single mom" for Pavelka to consider). She's 27 years old and is a student at the Tennessee School of Beauty. Nolan is currently looking for a job. She was gone for about a month filming the show.

1. Ali Fedotowsky, 25, an advertising account manager from Williamstown, Mass. — “She’s the consummate girl next door,” says Chris. “Everybody loves her — including Jake. She’s very easy to be around.”
2. Elizabeth Kitt, 29, a nanny from Imperial, Neb. — “Elizabeth is definitely striking and very flirty, but an old-fashioned girl,” Chris explains. “She is really hard for Jake to figure out. He’s not sure if it’s a game with her, or if she is serious.”
3. Ella Nolan, 30, a single mother (8-year-old son, Ethan) and hair stylist from Lafollette, Tenn. — “Ella is a single mom and a Southern belle. She’s definitely not here to party, but here to find a husband and dad for her son. She is very serious about it.” (Our early favorite even though it's not looking good that she Ella is the F1)
4. Gia Allemand, 26, a swimsuit model from New York, N.Y. — “If you had to label her, you would say ‘vixen,’ ” predicts Chris. “She is very well-equipped to handle the situation. But don’t judge a book by its cover.”
5. Michelle Kujawa, 26, an office manager from Anaheim, Calif.“Michelle is there to fall in love — period. She didn’t come to make friends, but she isn’t prepared for all of the pressure.”
6. Rozlyn Papa, 28, a single mother (son, Ayden, age 7) and model/makeup artist from Richmond, Va. — “Rozlyn stirs things up pretty early in more of a psychological way. She definitely makes a statement to Jake and to the other girls,” says Chris.
